Sphynx Care

🛁 Bathing Routine

Sphynx cats need regular skin care due to the oils their skin produces. Plan to bathe your cat every 10–14 days using a gentle, hypoallergenic cat shampoo. In between baths, warm cloth wipe-downs can help keep them clean. Avoid overbathing to prevent dryness or irritation.

👂 Ear & Eye Cleaning

Because Sphynx lack fur, they build up ear wax and tear residue more quickly than other breeds.

    •    Clean ears weekly using cotton pads and a vet-approved ear cleaner

    •    Wipe their eyes gently with a warm, damp cloth to remove tear stains or discharge

🦷 Dental Care

Sphynx and Bambino cats are genetically at moderate to high risk for oral health issues like gingivitis or periodontal disease.

Brush their teeth regularly or use vet-approved dental treats or rinses. Yearly dental exams are important.

🫀 Heart Health in Sphynx Cats

Some Sphynx cats may be prone to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), a form of heart disease.

We recommend a screening echocardiogram by a feline cardiologist around 1 year of age, then annually.

At Tiny Sphynxery, we track DNA and family history to reduce this risk.
