Sphynx and Bambino cats are generally healthy, but there are a few breed-specific concerns to stay aware of:
• Heart Health: Some Sphynx lines are prone to HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy). Ask your vet about a screening echocardiogram, especially around 1 year of age.
• Dental Hygiene: Regular brushing or dental treats help prevent periodontal disease.
• Ear Cleaning: Hairless cats build up more wax. Clean weekly using a vet-approved ear solution and cotton pads.
• Eye Care: No eyelashes = more tear buildup. Gently wipe with a warm, damp cloth.
Suggested Routine Vet Care:
• Annual checkup + dental exam
• FVRCP & rabies vaccines
• Deworming + flea prevention (indoor-only recommended)
